New self-guided craft beverage trail highlights the best of Ontario’s Headwaters region

HEADWATERS, ON (June 5, 2026) — A major new tourism collaboration has officially launched across the Headwaters region. The Headwaters Crafted Journey, a self-guided craft beer, cider, and wine trail, made its debut on May 30, 2026, inviting visitors and locals to explore the rolling hills, scenic roads, and vibrant communities of Caledon, Erin, Orangeville, Mono, and Grand Valley.

Featuring eight outstanding craft beverage producers, the journey offers a memorable passport-style experience. Along the way, participants can enjoy live music, great food, and cool community vibes while learning about sustainability, charming towns, the land, and time-honoured brewing, cider and wine-making traditions.

The passport includes a Sip. Stamp. Scan. Win. contest. Those who visit all eight stops and collect every stamp will be entered for their chance to win $1,600 in gift certificates generously provided by the participating makers, along with four additional runner-up prizes.

The eight participating makers are:

  1. Badlands Brewing Company (Caledon)
  2. Spirit Tree Estate Cidery (Caledon)
  3. GoodLot Farmstead Brewing Co. (Alton)
  4. Caledon Hills Brewing Company (Caledon)
  5. Sonnen Hill Brewing (Caledon)
  6. Grand Valley Brewery (Grand Valley)
  7. Adamo Estate Winery (Mono)
  8. Mono Centre Brewing Co. (Mono)

The Headwaters Crafted Journey was born at Goodlot Farm & Farmstead Brewing Co. during a conversation between owner Phil and CCT Executive Director, Chuck.  Phil brought all of the producers together, while Chuck engaged the municipalities and BIA, including the Town of Caledon, Town of Orangeville, Downtown Orangeville BIA, and Town of Erin to help bring the initiative to life.

The project was funded through financial contributions made by the eight makers, the Town of Caledon, Town of Orangeville, Downtown Orangeville, and the Town of Erin.  Central Counties Tourism then matched the total contribution through its Partnership Program — an annual matching-funds initiative designed to support tourism capacity-building and drive growth in the visitor economy across York, Durham, and Headwaters.

“This Headwaters Crafted Journey represents a strong and successful regional partnership,” said Chuck Thibeault, Executive Director of Central Counties Tourism. “By working together, Central Counties Tourism, our municipal, BIA and participating partners have collectively created an authentic experience that showcases local makers while bringing new visitors to our communities. It is amazing to see our municipalities and BIAs working together to drive people throughout the region through collaboration!”

How to Participate:
Free passports are available at any of the eight participating locations. Visitors who collect all eight stamps can scan the QR code on their passport or visit CraftedJourney.ca to enter the contest by uploading an image of their completed stamp card. The contest closes September 30, 2026. Families are welcome; alcohol service is restricted to those 19+. Please drink responsibly.
