Event Date Wednesday, October 28, 2026 | 12-1pm
How many visitors are staying overnight in York, Durham & Headwaters, where are they coming from, and which markets are contributing the most in overnight stays?
Join Tom Guerquin, our Research Manager, for a look at overnight visitation across the region during the first half of 2026. Using data from January through June, Tom will explore monthly and year-over-year trends and identify the markets generating the most overnight trips and nights in the region, as well as the visitor segments our region attracts. The data captures visitors who travelled 40 km or more and stayed overnight in the region, whether in a hotel, short-term rental, cottage, or with friends or relatives.
The webinar will also include a demonstration our Visitor Research Program’s Municipal Overnight Visitation Analysis report, showcasing how municipalities can use overnight visitation data to better understand their visitors and tourism activity.
Who should attend?
This webinar will be particularly valuable for municipal tourism and economic development partners looking to better understand overnight visitation in their communities. The data and insights may also be of interest to tourism operators, destination organizations and other industry stakeholders who want to better understand overnight visitor markets and regional travel patterns.
Advance registration is required. Please register by Monday, October 26, 2026.
